Music school

 Musical sensitivity and love of music should be fostered from earliest childhood. Children's comprehensive development requires a harmonious balance between their different physical and intellectual faculties.

Young singers

The smallest members of the Orfeón: children aged 8 to 11 who come to the School Choirs and the Music Workshop to work on their musical awareness from a very young age.

Orfeoi Gazte

The Orfeoi Gazte is the anteroom of the Orfeón, the prior step before making their debut with the grand choir of San Sebastian. Created in 2006 and formed by young people aged 14 to 19, it functions as an independent mixed choir.

School choirs

Another of the Orfeón Donostiarra’s tasks is to promote choral music through the creation of choirs in schools. This is an initiative aimed at children aged 8 to 11.

Summer camps

The Orfeón has been organising summer music camps aimed at children since 2009. There, they are taught to sing and dance, to make instruments and to enjoy music.

Violin classroom

Thanks to an initiative by the director of the Orfeón, Sainz Alfaro, this class is open to children and adults, and teaches violin from beginner to upper level.

Cello classroom

The cello classroom extends the education offered by the Orfeón Donostiarra and enhances the possibility of creating its own string orchestra in the near future.

Orfeón Donostiarra UPV/EHU Award

The University of the Basque Country and the Orfeón Donostiarra created this award to promote musical research and to give recognition to the careers of prominent people from the world of music.

Orfeón Donostiarra Musikene Award

An annual award for the students of Musikene whose end of course work, preferably related to music in the Basque Country and choral music, receives the highest grades.
