November 1984 saw the culmination of a project that had constituted one of the principal hopes and dreams of the then conductor Antxon Ayestarán: The creation of a Music School for children.
The Report published in 1973 stated that: 'Musical sensitivity and love of music should be fostered from earliest childhood. Children's comprehensive development requires a harmonious balance between their different physical and intellectual faculties.
We aim to awaken children's love of and feeling for music, with the possible later option of music literacy and training, seeking always to ensure that they enjoy music as a source of pleasure in itself and as a tool for exploring other areas.
